Happy Spring Days!

"I turn my ear to my right brain, I hear warm words telling me of a wish and
a cause, I go to the garden and feel Spring is on it's way."

This Newsletter shares another new metaphysical landscape painting which I call a "Mindscape". The Featured Artist this month is in her own words, "a psychologist, art playgroundist, writer, & mother, who loves listening to the beauty in people", and I have some travel news too! Read on!

I'm continuing to work on my Dream Garden paintings and more "Mindscapes'. I'm doing metaphysical landscapes with trees and I have a new one titled, "Be Still, Listen to the Woodlands Sing". This original acrylic painting will be for sale at the Tumalo At Co. Gallery in Bend in April.

These mystical trees are inspired from my drive out to Black Butte Ranch when I had my show there. The roadway to the lodge is lined with beautiful aspen or white birch trees and I loved the idea that their tree eyes could be made of jewels and magical shapes and colors in a painting.

"I've walked in the wood, air so fresh and clear.
I've heard the songbirds awaken forest and field.
Listen close, you can hear the woodlands sing, and the forest is alive with the journey of living."

Small "Mindscape" paintings, acrylic on paper, image size: 6.75" x 6", framed 15" x 12", $245

I'm going to Baja again! So my Etsy Shop will be closed during April and May while we travel to Baja, Mexico and stay in Todos Santos for 2 months.

My Blog and Facebook Fan Page will still be active as I will have internet access every day we travel and while we're in Baja. And I'll be painting up a storm in Todos Santos and will have lots of paintings to share when I come back.

If there is something you might like to purchase from my Etsy Shop for Mother's Day or Spring Weddings, please purchase them now so I can get them in the mail to you before we take off on our trip on April 1st.

We'll be back June 1st and I'll be re-opening my Etsy Shop when it gets closer to that date.

You can still find my prints and cards at the Tumalo Art Co. gallery in Bend, Oregon.

Rachel Awes is the artist at all i did was listen on Etsy.com. She's my March Featured Artist. I love the sweet images and heartfelt sentiments.

I've been reading Rachel's blog for awhile and checking out the newest art image and sentiment. I also did a blog post about her with a photo of me holding the print I bought from her Etsy Shop.

Some of you know I've collected many blank books over the years that I've filled up with art and words! I like finding sayings, quotes, poems, lyrics, etc. that inspire me. And sometimes I do a little writing myself.

So when I found Rachel's art and words blog, I was charmed! I hope you will be too!

I recently donated 2 pieces of art to causes to help those in need. One was to the Deschutes Children's Foundation Art & Wine Auction which will be held on May 7th in Bend and the other was to the Dan Price Auction Fundraiser, which was held yesterday and was for a local man needing help with health care costs.

I want to mention that on my blog, I wrote a 5 part series called One Artist's Journey. If you're interested in reading about my Artist's Journey, go to my blog and check it out.

Recently, I discovered some Blogger folks creating a list they title, "100 Things About Me". I admit to being a list maker. I do love lists! And this theme seems to be a "must-have" for blogs lately. So I thought I'd give it a try too.

You might want to try it yourself sometime. It's an interesting study in seeing what comes next as one item leads to another, and the list begins to grow. It's the short version of "truths about me", as I see it anyway. Check out my list here>

I'll be sending my next Art e-Newsletter from the sunny lands of Baja in April. So until then, enjoy the lighter and longer days of Spring! And I wish you creative energy to warm your spirit!
